Diane is a Retired Registered General Nurse, Qualified Teacher and Specialist Exercise Instructor Level 4.   She has been teaching evidence based exercise sessions to older people in the community for 26 years, including Phase lV Cardiac Rehabilitation, Falls Prevention, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Exercise Following Stroke, Circuit Training, Chair Based Exercise and Exercise to Music sessions.  

In addition to her nursing and exercise instructor qualifications Diane has a MSc in Health Promotion, a BA (Hons) in Education & Training and a Certificate in Education.   In 2006, while working as a tutor for Poole Adult Learning, as a result of an excellent report following an ALI/OFSTED inspection, Diane was invited to join the Tutor Observation Team, a role which she took on and enjoyed.

Along side the exercise sessions, Diane performs simple health checks at the classes and promotes healthy lifestyles, makes pastoral visits to members who are unwell or in hospital, organises day trips, short breaks away, bring & share lunches & teas and other social activities.  

Diane is a member of the Royal College of Nursing and is the founder of the 'Younger 4 Longer' © exercise programme.   Diane has developed a new, comprehensive training course which was first accredited by the Royal College of Nursing in 2010 and which trained caring people to work with older people, teaching evidence based exercise and providing a range of additional and worthwhile activities and opportunities.    

Diane is married to Jim, has two adult sons, David and Samuel, is a Grandma to three wonderful grandsons and one beautiful granddaughter and is an active member of Citygate Church, Poole
